"Kol HaKavod to you for all that you have done in the Phila area to bring Israeli dance and 'mentschkeit' to us. It is very heart-warming to see your efforts toward involving children and instilling in them a sense of pride and belonging to a bigger community. I agree that it takes community effort to make this happen, but you, yourself, exude such enthusiasm toward involving the children (and any beginner of any age!) that your enthusiasm is simply contagious. People are welcoming toward others in your dance sessions, because this is the tone that you have set. I just don't feel that 'elitist' vibe among the more experienced dancer in your dance sessions, that, in my perception, has been a part of the international folk dance culture and certainly a part of the Philadelphia Israeli Dance scene for so many years. (I especially enjoyed your giving the young girl an opportunity to teach us a line dance on Wed nite. She did a great job!! And for me, an adult who works with children, it was a very moving experience to see her sense of pride in leading others and to be an active participant in that moment.) Over the past 30 years, I have danced with many dance instructors in this area and since I dabble only here and there, I am still at the 'beginner' phase and I must say that you far outshine any other dance instructor that I have ever had, as far as helping people feel good about themselves, feel enthusiastic about learning more and wanting to become a part of Israeli dance world. This is a wonderful thing that you have done for our community and for maintaining Jewish culture, in general, through dance and music. Again, Kol HaKavod, and many thanks for your tireless efforts."
